Your Fairy Godmother Can’t Help You

It has often been said that anything worth having must be worked for.  That is very true about so many things, but especially about career opportunities.  Even if you have a fairy godmother, I’m not sure she can wave a wand and make a new opportunity magically appear. You must work for it.

Whether your transition was your choice or not, you can make the decision to treat this time as a choice opportunity to find the job of your dreams.  How do you do that? Hard work!

Finding a job is now your full-time job. Work at it about six hours a day.

Become the CEO of Me, Inc.

Take some time to organize your thoughts, your needs, your skills and strengths.

Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone to network with known associates or those you may meet through other connections.

Consider volunteering.  It refreshes your soul and looks great on your resume.

Stay focused. Keep your eye on the goal.

Take care of yourself. It’s up to you. You can get there from here.

Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off the goal.
