One client, The Center for Elder Law and Justice, is seeking a Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate all human resource & administrative policies and activities ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. As a member of the executive team, the Director will be a seasoned professional who is passionate about driving human resource strategy, and fostering a culture that enables all staff to do meaningful, impactful work in an inclusive environment. This includes overseeing and directing the staff responsible for the company’s diversity equity and inclusion initiatives.
The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated and innovative leader, and have the ability to act as a business partner while planning, organizing and directing a comprehensive human resources department and programs. Required competencies include: business acumen, ethical conduct, decision making, diplomacy, communications proficiency, strategic/analytical thinking, and a visionary outlook. The Human Resources Director will be a team player and share the agency’s passion for improving the lives of older, disabled and low-income adults in WNY with free legal services.
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8-10 years of related human resources senior leadership experience is required. A master’s degree, SPHR certification and union experience are preferred.
