Controller

Zoladz Construction Company, a large civil works and trucking contractor based out of Western, New York, with a division in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a Controller based at their Alden facility. The Controller must be able to work independently and also be able to collaborate with all levels of employees, management and external agencies with a hands-on approach. Reporting to the President of Zoladz, the Controller will be a self-starter while overseeing a staff of five, and striving to maximize performance.
Responsibilities Include:
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and monitor all internal controls and ensure safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs and project budgets and expenditures.
• Responsible for processing of billing and contractor files.
• Provide financial analysis and month-end reporting to management.
• Manage inter-company processes with sister companies and investments.
• Oversee all accounting processes.
• Manage accounting team.
• Facilitate all external and internal audit reviews.
• Job costing and sales tax filing.
• Identify cost saving projects, including meeting and brainstorming with department heads and team members on efficiency and productivity, recommendation of advanced accounting procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office products (Word, PWP, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of ComputerEase accounting software a plus.

Requirements include:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• A minimum of 3 year’s related experience.
• Working knowledge of tax laws and auditing procedures.
• Knowledge of ComputerEase a plus
• Notary a plus
