Western New York Bloodcare, the Buffalo area’s premiere hemophilia treatment center, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Western New York Bloodcare proudly specializes in diagnostic and clinical services, advocacy, education, community outreach, and research initiatives in order to provide comprehensive care for their patients with bleeding disorders. The CEO will provide executive business management and direction of the Center, and act as an advisor to the Board of Directors on technical aspects of the organization. The CEO will also assure that the intents and purposes of the articles of incorporation and the bylaws are effectively carried out, and he or she will act as the principal administrative officer for the Board. In this role the successful candidate will partner with professionals outside of the Center, as well as maintain effective relationships with the medical director, Board, employees, clients and the media.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership ability, a high degree of financial literacy, the ability to see the big picture, and act as a catalyst for action and change. Required competencies include: strategic thinking, creativity, visionary outlook, strong written and verbal communication skills, quality and diversity orientation, managing through systems, decision-making skills and optimism. The CEO will be a team player who can demonstrate and share the agency’s mission of striving to improve the quality of life for people with blood disorders that require lifelong medical management.

A Bachelor’s degree in business or health care administration is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. Also required is a minimum of five years’ managerial experience in human services, health care, or a related field.
