Assistant Controller

Our client, the Frontier Group of Companies, is seeking a motivated, technologically skilled and analytical Assistant Controller to join their team. Founded in 2001, the Frontier Group of Companies brings together strategically aligned businesses with expertise and capabilities in the area of large-scale industrial and commercial reuse, repurposing and redevelopment. The duties of this position include producing financial summary statements, forecasting the company’s financial health and correcting inaccuracies in the company’s financial records.

Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for providing high-level support and assistance in managing the company’s accounting and financial activities. Required competencies include: business acumen, analytical thinking, detail orientation, follow through, informing others, motivation of others, organization, performance focus, reliability and consistency, and teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities include:
• Weekly management of “sources and uses” including cash flow planning.

• Prepare weekly payroll by collecting, calculating and entering data.

• Supervise monthly finalizing of project cost vs budget.

• Prepare quarterly financial statements for Core Business and Special Purposes Entities (SPEs).

• Manage balance sheets weekly and analyze future earnings and expenses for SPEs.

• Assist with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the Frontier Group of Companies.

• Assist with preparations for YE audits by our 3rd Party Accounting Firm.

• Review and reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances for SPEs.

• Generate monthly billing for SPEs.

• Use QuickBooks to maintain records and prepare reports.

• Delegate accounting tasks and Supervise General Accountant and Accounting Staff.

• Coordinate and assist with the preparation of reports for the COO, Controller, and Executive Group.

• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks and adding value with creative problem-solving ideas as needed.

Qualifications include:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (MBA highly recommended) and at least 4 years’ experience in accounting. Also required are excellent computer skills, including proficient use of MS office suite skills. A CPA is preferred.
