MaryEllen got her start as a human resources generalist and later served as a contract recruiter for M&T Bank and Delaware North.

This arrangement allowed her to build her skills and network while prioritizing spending time at home with her young children. It also meant, for about a decade, she could jump in for whatever position or project needed support. That includes everything from covering for maternity leaves to assisting with acquisitions, all while gaining valuable experience. MaryEllen continued on this path until she decided to focus on executive search, which eventually led her to branch out, including recruiting talent for non-profit organizations. This experience illuminated her interest in a much broader range of recruiting.

Then, in 2010, MaryEllen joined Career Partners International Buffalo | Niagara, bringing with her an extensive range of Human Resources experience and a rich network of contacts.

As Director of Search Services, she provides full-service executive talent acquisition to corporate and non-profit organizations across all job functions. She utilizes a highly refined search process to uncover and attract talent that is the best fit for CPIBN’s clients and strategically aligned to their priorities while always keeping DEI initiatives at the forefront of her mind.

She brings positive energy and enthusiasm to all her recruiting projects, from the most senior-level executive position to the most junior. When talking with her candidates, she often encourages them to “find a job where they can say that they are doing what they love while never working a day in their lives.”

In her own words, MaryEllen says, “I think what I enjoy the most, quite honestly, is the challenge of finding that perfect candidate—that perfect match. MaryEllen is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute and holds SHRM-CP Certification from the Society for Human Resources Management. She is also a WorkPlace Big 5 Assessment and DiSC Consultant.

MaryEllen has been involved in leadership and volunteer roles in several local non-profit organizations and is currently an active member of the Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association and the National Society for Human Resources Management. MaryEllen enjoys the outdoors, reading, cooking, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
